FINE TUNING YOUR SOCIAL VOICE
Beyond The Classroom
Using Social Media to prepare school leavers for the world of work or further education beyond highschool.
The journey from school towards the world of work can be daunting but we believe in empowering our youth to make the right impression with respectful use of social media.
Futurists predict that by 2020 freelancers will make up half of the labour force, which means fewer traditional jobs on offer and with 93% of recruiters using social media to screen and source candidates, those seeking jobs must find a way to showcase themselves to stand out from the crowd.
We help students develop their personal brand and how to establish themselves as future professionals by showing their past achievements, unique qualities, skills and attributes increasing their prospects.
Students will discover:
- Social Foundation – Why social media is crucial to your future success
- Understanding the difference in social media platforms and the power of positive posting
- What your current social media profile says about you
- The importance of the Personal Values Inventory
- Understanding the importance of and building your personal brand
- What employers are looking for and why?
- Social & Business Etiquette – online and offline
- Networking / building relationships
- Personality and authenticity are key to developing your social voice
We encourage teens to protect and respect their online reputation
Career Kickstart Assemblies
Our 60 minute information and training sessions will complement the new “Work Studies” elective being introduced into the Australian Curriculum in 2016 for Years 9 and 10 along with bridging the gap in training for School Leavers.
We partner with you to determine what will work best for your students at each year level. Sessions are also available for educators and parents.
Presentations are interactive, informal and relaxed leaving students empowered and equipped with the skills to get a head start with their professional social networking.
LinkedIn is a professional networking site with 380 million members worldwide (over 7 million in Australia) and they have invested in our youth by providing them a more secured platform to discover new opportunities for further education or employment.
We use the student’s school reports to set up their LinkedIn presence, showcasing their awesomeness to stand out. They will learn the importance of using keywords to optimise their profile, how to communicate to build their professional network and to demonstrate their potential to future employers and universities.
We work with students to review their current social presence and make recommendations to improve their security and to help them better reflect their personal brand through positive and respectful posting.
